About This Course

The CPACC Exam Preparation Training Course is designed to raise and recognize accessibility skills. IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) credential is IAAP's foundational certification, representing the practical application of broad, cross-disciplinary conceptual knowledge about 1) disabilities, 2) accessibility and universal design, and 3) accessibility-related standards, laws, and management strategies. By obtaining this certification, you will be able to serve as a resource and disability ally who works to create a more fair and inclusive environment.

Please Note:

  • The Princeton CPACC Preparation Course was created based on the March 2020 CPACC Body of Knowledge (BoK).
  • IAAP has updated the CPACC Body of Knowledge to the October 2023 CPACC Body of Knowledge.
  • The CPACC Content Outline has not changed. All CPACC preparation courses are based on teaching to the CPACC Content Outline.
  • The Princeton University team will update the CPACC Preparation Course in August 2024. This announcement will follow in IAAP Newsletters and IAAP Social Media.

Course Instructor

Mary Albert

Mary is the Senior Director for Digital Accessibility in the Office of Information Technology. She is CPACC certified, and has served as co-editor of the CPACC Body of Knowledge.

IAAP Program Assistant

Sam Sundermann joined IAAP in June of 2020 in the role of Program Assistant and is responsible for the Educational Training Database/Speakers Bureau, the Learning Management System, and coordinating social media content. She has helped in many departments of IAAP working on new initiatives and assisting with certification. Sam has a love for travel and has worked in many industries around the world. She enjoys learning new skills and is looking forward to ongoing professional development in her role with the IAAP team.

What is the cost of the course?

This course is $195 USD. Purchasing this course gives you access for one year. If you qualify for the Emerging and Developing Economies discount, or are an active IAAP Member eligible for free enrollment please contact iaapsupport@accessibilityassociation.org. All requests will be processed on Tuesday and Fridays.
If you are an IAAP member you will receive an enrollment email from Edunext. Select the link in this email to access the course. If you have not already done so, you will need to make an EduNext account. Your IAAP credentails will not work on this site. You will remain enrolled for 1 year or until your IAAP membership is no longer active.
If you enroll in the course prior to receiving your enrollment notification, no refund will be given.
This course fee does not cover the cost to sit for any IAAP Certification Exam.

Do IAAP Members need to pay for the course?

No, the course is free for active IAAP Members. Please contact iaapsupport@accessibilityassociation.org to be enrolled. If you enroll in the course prior to be enrolled by the IAAP team, no refund will be given.
All IAAP members will only be enrolled once and can only take the course and practice exam once. The course can not be reset, but learners are welcome to review the material as many times as they like while enrolled.

How many times can I take the practice Exam?

The Practice Exam can only be taken once. Once you submit the final question you can not revisit the exam. Incorrect answers are indicated as you submit questions. Please make note of these topics as you go through the exam, as you will not be able to go back in to find the incorrect answers later.

This Practice Exam has been built to help potential CPACC Exam takers understand the question structure and how answers could be laid out. Your study plan should not depend solely on this Practice Exam. You can mark down the topics of questions you answer incorrectly and use other study methods to continue your learning.

How do I apply for the IAAP CPACC Exam?

View our Prepare for CPACC webpage for more information on how to prepare for your exam. When you are ready to take the CPACC Exam, please visit the IAAP Exam Dates webpage for exam session dates and information on when application forms will be available.

How long will the course take to complete?

The course is self-paced, providing you with the flexibility to learn at your own pace, on your own schedule. The course would take about 12 hours to complete start to finish, including the Practice Exam. Once enrolled, you will have 1 year to complete the course and receive your Certificate of Completion. If your IAAP membership becomes inactive during this one year period, you will be unenrolled from the course.
Please note: All knowledge checks and the practice exam can only be taken once, but learners are welcome to review the course material as many times as they like while enrolled. The course can not be reset.

Is this course eligible for IAAP Continuing Accessibility Education Credits (CAECs)?

Yes, if you currently hold an IAAP Certification this course could be used to earn up to 12 CAECs. You must pass with an overall grade of 80% to be eligible for a Certificate of Completion to use to request CAECs. If you complete this course prior to sitting for your exam, CAECs will not be awarded.

Will I receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the course?

Please contact iaapsupport@accessibilityassociation.org upon successful completion of the course and we will issue a PDF certificate with 4 weeks of your request. An overall grade of 80% is needed for successful completion of the course.

The course discussion boards are not regularly monitored, so adding issues there will not prompt a quick response.
