Join the World Institute on Disabilities subject matter experts for a full-day workshop. The workshop focuses on case studies on how disasters and crises of all types and sizes disproportionately impact people with disabilities. Presenters highlight how organizations can proactively address good practices around emergency response, public health, and other support systems in inherently and systemically inaccessible disasters, contributing to this disparity.
The workshop includes learning ways to incorporate accessible technology and principles of inclusion and leverage the expertise of disability-led organizations (DLOs) to support crafting company-wide effective emergency preparedness and resilience policies and practices. Presenters highlight policies and practices essential to preserving the lives and independence of the world’s 1.3 billion people before, during, and after crises and disasters.
Furthermore, presenters highlight the framework for effective emergency preparedness, emphasizing that effective emergency preparedness goes far beyond creating a kit or hosting a fire drill. The workshop will also explore topics such as:

The course costs $105 USD for IAAP members.
The course is self-paced, providing you with the flexibility to learn at your own pace, on your own schedule. The course will take about 5 hours to complete start to finish. All learners have access to the course material for as long as they hold an IAAP membership.
Yes, if you currently hold the CPACC IAAP Certification this course could be used to earn up to 5 IAAP Education Credits. If you complete this course prior to sitting for your exam, IAAP Education Credits will not be awarded.
